Cinnamon rolls
Do I have your attention now? Good.
Cinnamon rolls are nice and everything, but I want the focus of this post to really be about getting out of your comfort zone and trying something new. When it really comes down to it, baking scares me. Baking is a precise science where more often than not, if you mess something up it throws off the whole process. There’s something in baking that really brings out the anxiety in me, and that coupled with lack of time management skills and general inability to be patient really works against me.

This one is about cilantro
In my mind, there is perhaps only one herb that has stood the test of time as the most divisive ingredient: Coriandrum sativum of the family Apiaceae, otherwise known as cilantro. Personally, I find that there is no greater gift of leafy goodness that was delivered unto us than the humble cilantro, but of course, I am biased.
Growing up, my family never really had cilantro in our house or used it in recipes.

Happiness is a bowl of noodles
This year has been difficult and has affected all of us physically, mentally, and emotionally. Let’s face it, we’re living in a broken and dysfunctional country where an unnecessary ideological division has become more apparent. How can one find happiness in a time when there is so much hate in the world? During moments like these, it seems almost selfish to pursue happiness and self-fulfillment. In these tough times where it has become harder to rely on social interactions to help us get through the pain, I have found that the best cure is a good memory.

An open letter to a food cart
Let’s be honest with ourselves, we’re both to blame in this situation. As much as we might want to believe, there is no cut and dried, black and white approach. That’s not how these kinds of affairs work. Don’t get me wrong, I wanted everything to work. I wanted us to both to be happy. But, after months of unsuccessful attempts, here we are. I think… it’s time we both just gave up and went our separate ways.

Let's talk about food
Now, I know that some of you aren’t like me: you might not own one book, let alone a small collection of books that are related to food or nutrition, or you might not even watch a food documentary or travel show as entertainment, but I guarantee you think about food in some respect at least two times per day.
It can be difficult to have a conversation about food. We need it to survive, but it can be such a politically, culturally, and emotionally charged subject.

Introduction
This creation, fantasized in my head and brought into existence by Fischer, is intended to be part rambling discussions of life, part documentary of my journey into the culinary world. Each word and thought that I share with you will be my opinion, and mine alone. If you find yourself agreeing with me, then great! Continue reading on. However, if you find yourself disagreeing with my thoughts then I hope that you may choose to not take my words so seriously and instead find entertainment within my stories.
